About

Come see what we're all about

Traditionally Speech and Language Therapy (SLP) focuses on fixing limitations that a disabled individual is experiencing in their communication. Most of the offered services focus on helping the individual to meet all kinds of standard in order for them to fit into society. We would like to turn this around or at least enable friends, extended family, and the community, to accommodate to the needs of the individual with a disability and their immediate family.

We exist to help people become able to respond to their communication partner, regardless of disabilities. Communication is a two way street, there are two parties involved. Individuals often work hard together with an SLP to improve their skills. Where do you go when you are the communication partner who would love to become able to respond to any client? We provide coaching and training for both individuals and groups. Helping people to become able to respond in any given situation.

GETTING TO KNOW THE PERSON BEHIND RESPONSE-ABLE

GERNA SCHOLTE

After completing her education in Speech Therapy in Nijmegen, Gerna received her certification in Language and Speech Pathology in Nijmegen in 2012. More than 10 years ago, she first came into contact with children who are in need of supported communication and she was immediately hooked. Giving a voice to those who don't have a voice and being a voice to those who don't have a voice is a good reason to come to work every day.

"I think it is important that everyone can participate, therefore all children and adults should have access to appropriate forms of communication. A lot is possible! I want to assist parents, companies and professionals in becoming skilled to respond!"
